Tired of your friends saying Latin is a dead language? Come and speak some conversational Latin at Convivium Latinum!
Learn some conversational Latin from some of your classics peers in a relaxed 1 hour Zoom session held monthly. A basic knowledge of Latin (gained from completion of LATN1100 or an equivalent Beginner Latin course) is expected so that you get the most out of the program.
And remember, lingua Anglica eat lingua barbarica!
Ancient Text Discussion Group
3 Sessions, on 4/3, 1/4, and 6/5.
4:30-6pm at Michie 536.
We hold a fortnightly reading group for participants to develop their understanding and analysis of ancient texts, and to gain different perspectives as to select texts and topics, explored via group discussion.
A new and exciting range of topics is offered in each 1.5 hour session, including the mythological and supernatural, to medicine, geography, politics, and war, through to literature – there is always something thrilling to explore!
This program is aimed at higher level Undergraduate students (in their third year of study or above), as well as Honours and Postgraduate students.
